Directory of Funders Funding Frontline Social Change

Fund grassroots impact, not paperwork

Every day, funders are unlocking frontline community‑led impact simply by saying yes to projects that are fiscally hosted.

Traditional grant processes unintentionally shut out the very groups that live closest to the issues they want to solve. Fiscal hosting removes those barriers. We created this list to:

  • spotlight funders already leading the way

  • help grant‑seekers find the right doors to knock on

  • give other funders a practical nudge: “if your peers can do it, you can too.”

The directory of funders who accept fiscally hosted groups

This list is not exhaustive and is only intended as an example of funders we have worked with in the past. Please check the eligibility criteria before applying for a grant.

Get added to the list!

Do you grant to fiscally hosted groups? Or do you know a progressive funder that does?

How fiscal hosting works in 60 seconds

  1. A registered organisation (the host) receives and holds grant funds.

  2. The grassroots group focuses on delivery while the host handles governance, reporting and compliance.

  3. The funder gets transparent financials and reduced risk, without forcing the group to incorporate.

How Microgrants are Powering Grassroots Climate Solutions and Fuelling Young Activists to Make Change

At The Social Change Nest, we’ve always believed that change doesn’t trickle down, it surges upward. And often, what sparks that surge is modest funding in the hands of the right people.
