With so much going on across the sector, it can be hard to keep up.
To help, we’ve pulled some of the most essential tools, templates and resources together in one place and where there are gaps we have built them.
The Social Change Agency
Our sister organisation, The Social Change Agency, has over 10 years’ experience in movement building and social change.
Wherever you are in your journey, they have an array of free resources to help you. Here are some of the highlights:
Open Collective is a legal and financial toolbox for grassroots groups. The software allows you to manage your group’s finances in a secure, transparent and collaborative way.
Open Collective Foundation
Open Collective Foundation is a US-based fiscal host. It offers groups in the US access to its nonprofit status.
Open Collective Europe, All for Climate
RadHR is a space for social change organisations to share the nuts and bolts – the policies, processes, practices and stories – of how to organise ourselves based on our values, and challenge oppression within our groups.
Relationships Resource Hub
A collection of useful resources on all things relationships run by the Relationships Project. Across the Hub there’s a huge range of resources to help you understand and embed relationship-centred practice in your place, and connect with others who are doing the same.
MyCommunity.org.uk has a host of tools, tips and ideas to make your community an even better place to live.
They have resources on cost-of-living support, community assets and ownership, and even a mutual aid resource bank. These pieces are particularly worth bookmarking:
Cobudget is a tool that allows you to co-create and fund projects collaboratively.
This handbook is a great introduction to trauma-informed principles. The principles form an approach that recognises the widespread impact of trauma. And they aim to create safe and supportive environments that foster resilience and healing.
Our insurance provider, Sustain IB, also provides insurance for unincorporated groups. We recommend contacting them to see what kind of insurance you need. They’ll also be able to give you a quote for cover.
Community resources / Discord
Our community members have so many great resources to share. More than we can keep up with, in fact! We’ll always keep this page as fresh as possible. But if you’re looking for more up-to-the-minute sharing, we recommend joining our Discord.
If you haven’t already, make sure you take some time to explore all the different services we can offer you.
To start you off, we recommend checking out our page for grassroots groups.
Keep an eye on our comms, too, as we often send out updates on new offers and opportunities.
