Spotlight: Trans Aid Cymru
Solution used: Grant Management
Trans Aid Cymru (TAC) started as a local mutual aid group in Cardiff in 2020.
They have created a thriving support network to help transgender, intersex and non-binary (TIN) people in Wales, and provide mutual aid, grants, events, and a safe space when it is most needed. You honestly couldn’t meet a nicer bunch of people!
The project is run by TIN people for TIN people, making it inclusive and understanding of the community needs.
Amongst their list of amazing achievements is a successful meal share scheme, a map of trans-friendly GPs in Wales, funded counselling sessions and the creation of their swim and gym programme. Sof from TAC said, “We are really proud of the swimming events, they have been our most successful event and allow trans people a unique opportunity to safely and freely explore the pool and gym.”
The next TAC swim and gym events if you’d like to take part are on the 14th and 28th of February.
